Time To Start Thinking "Outside The Box"

What if we took a microprocessor from one of the color depthfinder units (Humminbird Matrix, Furino, Garmin, etc.) and tied that into a pulse induction circuit board where clock speeds are measured good/bad (iron/low conductance), so that 1/2 of the internal circuitry is pulse induction and 1/2 is depthsounder, and we take the clock speed readings of soft/hard/metal speeds from the depthsounder for common metals (gold/silver/aluminum/etc) and merge this information into a circuit (or 3rd microprocessor) with the pulse information to come up with a true discriminating pulse induction machine. The merged information would look like this (for gold): low conductance --.> good --> clock speed correct for metal --> good --> depthsounder clock speed good for metal (gold) --> good = tone.
Then I woke up . . .
Bulk of below found with Mr. Foster's excellent XL-500 (nicads).

Hi Matt,
I was recently reading about lucid dreams, and how to control them. See if you can wire it up and test it when you are next in the land of nod.
It is not often appreciated how much treasure was found with the XL500/200 detectors. Maybe they don't pick up the very small stuff and had manual threshold adjustment, but it was a good all round detector for the beach and in the water.
Eric.

When I'm in the land of nod I'll also make sure to test it hooked in parellell with the depth sounder, so the imaging of the color depthsounder images precious metals with a symbol (much like the big fish symbol the depthfinders use).
Regarding the Sea Hunter: professional divers have used them reliably for many years. At the dawn of Pulse Induction Sea Hunters, the difference in price between it and the next unit that would do what it did for $500 was $9500 . . . so it wasn't brain surgery to outfit a whole dive team with Sea Hunters. Mine paid for itself and a couple other detectors ($2000 worth of treasure) the very first day I had it underwater, so it will always have a special place in my heart, whether I'm using it or not. Presently it sits in the closet with a dead set of nicads and I use many other detectors, but I'll always have that Sea Hunter.

Eric,
I have an XL500 and use it regularly at the beach. I does a good job for me and finds some small gold rings. If i new what to change to get it a little more sensitive to the small items I wouldn't need anthing else. I love the built in nicads. I can hunt all day and still have a charge. Thanks, Joe from GA.

I've experienced that phenomena and it get's a bit scary when you finally wake up. You are actually outside looking in and can actually direct the scene. If we could just exert the control into some new detector designs it would be great. Especially if you could remember it upon waking up.
Don - found tiny gold ring with big $ sign on it this morning using my trusty Aquastar.
