Just posted part of this on another forum. This seems to work great for dd coils I have not tried my concentric yet. Problem was I went to a beach with high mineralization and had to use the 6in dd hf, and the machine was not having it (705). Gb # in the 5,6,7, range. I got a 10 once haha. Anyway beach mode and tracking were useless. Prospecting mode which I have tuned well in the mountains was useless also. The beach I went to has black rock formations eroded from the ocean sticking up through the sand everywhere that made prospecting mode go nuts. Salt water and xterra do not mix up here in pnw. Anyway I set it back up in coin. Sensitivity at 20 gb 6<- lol and began to sweep the dry up by all the logs then I remembered the pinpoint mode and how it works in big fields to get me close to metal objects then I switch back to normal mode and it gives me target id then I decide if I dig. Then switch back to pinpoint. First target by proximity was a Smith&Wesson homeland security knife in great condition. Pics coming soon.

If you detect in areas of low trash you might try running pinpoint mode and just move the coil, no need to sweep back and fourth and it detects any metal objects further away than any other way I have found. In this mode one time I could not get within 15ft of a CAT earth mover. Lol
Anyway you notice you can just move around logs and objects without the back and fourth swing. When your ready and over the object you can switch back and ID the object. Just found a sweet knife this way from about 1foot away.

Tried it again around some logs today and it works great. Just have to remember to switch it when close to a target so it does not have a consistent tone.

I actually just started a soccer field and am half way done with it. There is not much in trash or finds but covers ground quickly and I think I am covering the area more throughly than regular search mode. In regular search mode you could miss something if you don't overlap good enough. In pinpoint mode you could overlap less and cover more area. Trying my concentric made more of a field. Is this why in some older analog machines people run in pinpoint also? Anyways it's working great for me. Just not around large metal objects.
