Tired of digging can slaw and some other trash with HF2 coil. Looking for gold rings ?

XY screen.

More often then not, a straight line means a uniform shaped target.

top right/bottom left quad is silver.
Top left/bottom right quad is gold.
Straight north/south always dig.

Depending on zoom number, size of line is depth.

nothing is 100% or else we'd all be rich.

ymmv
I really wanted the XY screen to work. But I have tried and tried with it and the problem is this. You can't trust it with Relics and I like Relics as much if not more than Coins at this point in my detecting. Recently I was hunting down a field in England and chatting with a friend who was 10-12 feet away. As we hunted I noticed that he was running the XY screen. I asked him if he thought that was a good idea he said yes that it's very accurate. I said yes it is on Coins he said everything. About 5 minutes later he had a signal and called me over. He said what do you see? I swept and said a digger for sure. He said nope its crap. So the dig was on. XY VS Standard screen. I dug the target and asked him Why don't you like Crotal Bells? He said there must be some other junk in the hole but after checking there was not. A complete walnut sized Crotal Bell and a squiggly mess of a line on the XY. He said You just Had To Be Here for that? LOL I wish that it worked ALL the time but it just doesn't So why would you use it if not coin shooting ? Dig it out. Can Slaw and crap is just part of the game.
Get out there

I must say, I dont dirt dig much as I only live 2 miles from the beach. I can vividly remember each gold ring I found in dirt. Back in my newbie days, I didnt have a meter.
Just learned to hunt by sound. I remember someone told me, 'if you're not digging nickels, you're not digging gold' !!! Many years later when I got my Deus 1, I remember I was digging an athletic complex, many baseball diamonds back to back. First time in, I just cherry picked all high tones, Then went back and dug all the nickels readings.
Didnt find one gold ring!!!! Times I did find gold rings in dirt, I was digging everything in location where I thought someone could loose a ring. One place was the left or right side of the pitchers mound and out in the outfield. Someplace with not too much trash where you can dig all.

Squirrel, its great you've this discovered this technique and it works for you and shared with the community. We all appreciate you effort.
The times I go dirt digging, I really appreciate how easy it is to dig in sand. Unfortunately, Mother nature is very fickle at the beach. Just when u think you have great conditions, this last Nor'easter, she ends up leaving you almost nothing. I pounded a couple of beaches for 4 day and pickins were slim. Finally lucked out with a hefty childs gold ring found within a ton of gravel 14k with diamonds and sapphires 5 grams. It so small it barely fits on the end of my pinky.

Donna,
I found the match to your ring a couple years ago...
Looks just like yours with same type of stones and very small ...size 4.
Also 14k.

Glad yours is marked cause mine isn't !!! But you can just tell the real thing. My stones are very worn. Been rollin a long time.

So rare that someone else has a match.
