Titan 2000XD metal detector

Hello All,

My name is Tim and I am new to this forum and to treasure hunting.

I am going to buy a metal detector in the next few weeks.

Has anyone used either the Titan 2000XD or 3000XD on wet sand on a salt water beach?

Also, any general impressions of this detector are appreciated.

So far as I can tell, it is brand new and made by Bounty Hunter.

Metal detectors are like anything else you buy, from toasters to cars, you're gonna get what you pay for. I always recommend trying out any detector you are looking to purchase and pick the one that's right for you. Is there a perfect, all in one detector out there? I don't think so..... that's why I own 5 different units. Each one specializes in hunting in a certain type of terrain. Each one fits a need and is right for me. If you ask 25 different people which 5 detectors would you like to own, you'll get 25 different answers. In my most humble opinion, Bounty Hunter made machines are way down the list of detectors that I'd like to own. Please guys, don't bury me on this, as this is just my opinion. Save your money if cost is an issue and buy a machine that will bring years of enjoyment and success rather than settling for a lesser unit that will bring frustration and discourage you from a wonderful hobby. By the way, if you are getting into the hobby to get rich, don't do it as you probably won't.
Good luck, do lots of research, and buy the unit that is right for you.

I would also recommend joining a club, if you're not already a member of one. Our club, The South Jersey Metal Detecting Club meets in Haddonfield, not far from Philadelphia. If you would like to attend one of our meetings, we meet every 2nd Thursday of the month. Our web address is www.sjmdc.org. Check us out. There are a lot of people there with the same interests, and can give you feedback on pretty much any detector out there.

I have a Titan 2000xd but have not yet tried it in the wet sand. But if you remind me in a week or two I should have an answer to that question. :beers:
