Titanium ring found with Aquastar

A couple weeks ago, I found my first titanium wedding band. I got this real loud signal and when I looked in my sand scope. I saw this black ring. I thought that it was junk but I could see that there is some good workmanship in it. When I got home and used my magnifying glass. I could see the word titanium plus a jewelry trade mark. So I got on the internet and looked up titanium rings. I found out that you can getthem in different colors. One web site said that it is cool to wear a black wedding band. Guess I will never be cool in their eyes because I want a gold wedding band. The ring size is 10 and the weight is 5.5 grams. It read 8 target ID on my MXT. Nickels read 20 on my MXT.

to lightweight and strong made from titanium, and they are expensive, but I wouldn't think a piece of titanium the size of a ring would be worth much. Strange find. Now are we going to have to adjust all our detectors back from being sensitive to gold to sensitive to titanium?

Its worth about five buks. Maybe ten. New from teh jewlry store....prolly cost the owner a hundred dollars or so. Maybe more if it was "hand crafted". I dont know why anyone would want one. Gold or Platinum is what i'd want for a band.

I did find a titanium wedding band on the internet close to my ring that they wanted $200.00 for it. The scrap value of the titanium is probably much less then a dollar. You do not have to retune your detector to find one. If you are finding small gold items. You have no problem in finding titanium rings. I just posted finding the titanium ring just to provide information to help other people identify their finds.

Terry,
Nice to see you post again. So, how's the Hawaii SuperBowl doing this year. Haven't heard too much from you lately.
Thanks for the info,
Don
