Hello, wanted to know if you had a chance to check out the gd 2oo2 gold detector made by electron? Thank You.

Hi Pebbles,
I wish I had, but all I got was the instruction manual. Pity, because if the detector is what the publicity says, it would be a good one. Haven't heard of anyone that has one, either.
Eric.

Thank you Eric for checking. Yes I think it sounds pretty good. Getting additional info from the company is as hard as pulling teeth. Sounds like they are not eager to sell one. Oh well there is always minelab gp 3000. Thank you.

Hi Eric & Pebbles
Check this out...That's the German way how to build the next generation of PI detectors.....PI detector with 12Bit digital discrimination & graphic display....miles ahaed of what USA detector technology shows in todays days.....
Chris

if they used a 32 or 64 bit cpu. And it's modular and software upgradeable over the internet!!! Amazing!!!!!! Now if it can just find gold while leaving the iron behind.... Wish I could read German so I could have read the other pages. It sure would be nice to to see one of those detectors in action.
I've seen and used Eric's Aquastar and it's an awesome machine.

Hi Beachcomber
All these PI's are available as DIY kits at www.pulsdetektor.de . The circuit diagrams, PCB's and software HEX codes are published on this site too.
Chris

Thank you Chris, very interesting detector worth checking out. Will contact them for further details.Hope to get better response from them than I did with the Electron people.

Its been over a year since www.pulsdetektor.com has been updated. How can you build their higher end detectors since it seems to use this PIU chip that seems to be more vaporware? I couldn't find anywhere to buy one. No response to emails. Can't read German so can't participate on their forums...I'll buy American or Eric.
FJ

You are right FJ, the germans are hard people to deal with. What is up with that? Do they want to sell any detectors or not? I as well would like to buy American or Eric's.Does Eric have anything that can compare to this detector? Am going up north this fall to look for nuggets. Want the best detector possible.

Hi Steve
Please, no disrespect meant here at all, but I wanted to address your concerns about your comment about "going up north this fall, and want the best detector available". You will drive yourself crazy if you continue to search for the "best detector available". I think we have all been searching for that one.
For going nugget hunting I would recommend bringing with you a dedicated VLF nugget unit, and PI unit. You will find that you will have use for both. If you favor the "GP" series for a PI, go for it. I would be partial toward the Goldquest SS because of the cost, and the great sensitivity, but there are things the GP does better. I really don

Hello Mr. Bill,no offence taken, thank you for your input. You are right have been looking for detector for the last month, and am getting tired of the search. I think I have covered the entire net, however do not want to miss anything. Since I am a beginner I needed to learn everything. Still a long ways off but I am trying. The Germans seem to be making some big PI's.
I do not know much about area I am going to hunt nuggets, since I have never been there( Cassiar B.C.). Friend of mine has been there to hunt and he showed me on the map where the locals dig for pinky sized nuggets. No one up there has a detector. Am hoping to go up there to clean up, HA!HA! I think I have gold fever!!!!
P.S. This is the most informative site on the web. Tried the Canadian forum and all they seem to do is trade greetings! Thank you.

Hi Pebbles & FJ
I agree with you guy's partial....German people looks hard to deal with....but the reason behind is... they have good products but don't know how to promote or market them. The most are not global thinking players. To compare with Americans.... they promote and market their product succsessful. Even if they are not the best in the market.
Chris

I have never really went nugget hunting but I do search for gold...all shapes and sizes in the form of gold jewelry and having both a good PI and a good VLF Nugget detector is the best and safest way to cover all your bases. The PI will go deeper on the medium to larger gold (pinky sized) and the VLF will do better on the smaller stuff. ALso if there is a lot of iron trash you maybe glad that you brought the VLF along as most of the VLF Nugget Machines have the ability to Discriminate. Unfortunately most everywhere man has been he seems to have left iron trash behind
Good Luck on your trip and let us know how you make out when get back!!!! Hope you do clean up on pinky sized nuggets!!!!!!! Sounds like it could be an awesome adventure!!!!!!!!!

Says it all!!
I see more ideas on this, and other forum that I has 15 years ago and designed into a machine.
Never did raise the finance to get it going. Still trying though ;-)
