to many clads

New member
have this playground, ball diamonds, that i have been hunting for a couple of years. have found at least a hundred clad coins, not one silver nor any jewelry.
tierd of digging clads. wondering if i should give up on it?

I wouldn't give up on it, just move on for a while. I have probably 30 different sites I may hunt at any given time depending on what style of hunting I feel like. I may get into groove and focus on one style for a while, but eventually I get burned out doing the same thing at the same place for too long. Some have old coins, some will have old buttons and relics, some have jewelry possibilities, some have tons of clad but some are just for the challenge of finding a decent "higher" tone.

I feel your pain John...if I ever see a coin in a hole that's not clad I'll probably think I'm hallucinating.

I'm assuming the park is old enough to have silver coins. if your sure the park is old enough or if you know others have pulled silver out of there, try cherry picking for just deep coin hits. I would pass up all shallow targets (less than 5 or 6 inches deep), ok pop the quarters but pass up the rest of the shallow targets and concentrate on those deeper targets. If you're already digging 6+ inch coins and they are all clad your park probably has had dirt brought in and your oldies are too deep to detect. If your getting wheats there is silver there.

Good Luck:detecting:
