To The Guv and anyone else that may be interested ....

... Please carefully re-read the "Attention to newcomers" on top of the forum page. The below paragraph is what made this forum so successful until the string of posts last week that the Guv wisely has closed.

"Topics on this forum can be anything that would and could be discussed around the family dinner table, yes, including metal detecting. We kid each other, we enjoy photo edits of each other, we help each other, we share good news / bad news, we brag about our children and grand children, [size=medium]we offer a bit of "lite" political opinion / humor[/size], and sometimes we even post photos of our detecting finds. As fair warning, the majority of this forum participants tend to be more conservative than liberal in their thinking."

This post or perhaps some future post may cause me to be "banned for life" from this forum, if so let it happen. Already some of the core "old timers" of this forum have expressed intent to no longer participate. Should this happen, the forum will lose a lot of the family flavor and good natured humor that has made this forum so special and enjoyable to so many of us. This will lead to less participation and this forum becoming like the ones we left before landing here.

I will continue to post lite political humor / opinion when I think it's appropriate along with good natured ribbing of anyone left on the forum that still has a sense of humor. I will also post about detecting trips and finds when something interesting or amusing happens. If any of this gets me banned, perhaps I'll see many of you again on a different forum. You may even see a new avatar photo of me wearing my "I Like Ike" button .... am I bad or what?

I agree that some political posts over the past year have become too "heavy" for this forum and should be expressed on the views forum. I have visited the views forum a few times and frankly did not enjoy it and choose to not participate. It's WAY TOO SERIOUS over there and I just don't have the time or inclination to participate in a forum that puts me into a downer mood. IMHO lite political humor or comments have helped make this forum interesting, the tirades and name calling have not.

Those of you that may have decided to not participate (currently in the time out room or in the corner with your crayons), please lurk for awhile to see if the forum continues to be enjoyable or continues it's current downward slide.

Many times there have been things said or directed at me of a personal nature...... things that were intended to be hurtful and for the most part I let it go and said nothing. All of a sudden a minority of people come from out of the shadows telling me what I can talk about and what opinions that I may share and I simply can't abide by that. The name calling I find particularly disgusting. Calling someone a "moron" or a "polidickhead" is not funny. I didn't respond to the earlier posts when this thing blew up because it was fairly evident (to me anyway) that the decisions had already been made and nothing that I, or anyone else had to say, was going to change things...............what do ya know, seems I was right. From what I read the majority of the posters that actually gave an opinion seemed to want to keep the forum as it was and not change anything. I appreciate the fact that some of you don't want to read political post.........so don't. That is what got the country in the crappy position that it's in. The exit polls were saying one thing but the minority won in the end. How did that happen? Sound familiar?

It was fun while it lasted and like I said, I'll lurk for a bit to see which way the Titanic will turn but my participation will probably be severely curtailed. Those of you that would like to stay in touch that don't have my e-mail address, please contact me through the personal messages and I'll probably share it with you.........some may not get a response and I hope you understand.

Don't have a clue what happened on here but it seems like there was a pretty good blow up. I hate to hear that. I've not been on in a while but I figure y'all are good friends and would understand me spending time with the family. I've been spending a lot of time with Becky and Zach lately. Mostly because Zach just graduated High School and will be starting college in the fall. Time gets by quick and I don't want to miss a thing with him, before you know it he'll be off on his own life. I hate to lose touch with any of you regular guys. If you do decide to land somewhere else on the internet someone shoot Flipper an e-mail and I'll ease by time to time. If you stay here I'll be back regularlly posting in a few mounths. If the run is over, it's been a real pleasure knowing y'all, you've been good buddys, have a good life, I'll keep ya in my prayers............... Flipper out.

They are taking at H--L of a More to Heart then I am. At my age and Health Life to Short. Family and Friendship come before PITTY B>S> and If some one the can not look at most post for what the are the Humor with witch they were posted.


As for The Views fomur If I wanted Hang with a Herd of Killer Lap Dogs I would Not left the depot ten years.
