Spent the whole day with two friends in Indiana looking for oldies! We all found some!
Left to right - Here is Neal, Jerry, and me. I think Neal was standing on a bucket! Pic is a little dark.

Jerry got a nice 1867 Indian. It is in beautiful shape, looks to be a $100 + coin! Congrats Jerry! He also got two wheats. These were found with his new Explorer SE.

Neal got an equally awesome 1866 Indian in fantastic shape too! Another $100+ coin! The Indians and wheats came out of the ground with a beautiful green patina. Congrats Neal. Also found with an Explorer.

Took a while but I got a nice green 1910 wheat, then a heart stopper! As soon as I seen it I rememberd it was a high tone. I knew it must be silver. Sure enough it is probably the nicest looking sterling silver ring I have found. One big stone and 12 down the sides. Last but not least I got a nice deep indian tone and about 6" down I seen this tiny silver disc. I thought cool a 1/2 dime or 3 cent piece! I grabbed it still dirt covered and could tell it was not likely either one. I knew it was silver and a coin. I walked over to Neal and said let's find out what this is together. I slowly picked the dirt off to find a coin that I have wanted to find for years! It is a 1901 fish scale. Canadian silver 1/2 dime. Also found with an Explorer!
I was happy to cross that off my list of coins I wanted to find. It was a fun day with great friends, great finds, and great fellowship! :)

congrats, what a great bunch of finds. bet that was a whole lotta fun

I tell you what, other than one IH I found near an old farm out here, IH's and LC's come out looking like absolute toast. Nice 1/2 dime too!

1800's park and race track. Many great finds have come from that site, but you really have to work for them now. The deepies are slim pickens now.

Neal is a 'tall drink of water' isn't he"?

Lovely shape & detail on that fishscale too!
There aren't a lot found that are not already a lot more worn that that one!

Good finds Mike. Like the Indians. Look to be in extra fine shape. The Lincoln looks to be extra fine also. Don't know much about Canadian coins. Exactly what is the one you found?

It is called a fish scale. It is a Canadian silver 1/2 dime.

Really nice oldies found and congrats to all of you! Sure like that ring and the fish scale! Silver looks nice when it comes to light most of the time, but if not it cleans up good! :clapping: :) God Bless! Betty
