found this at my own house!almost threw it away thinking it was a car fuse or something untill i notice that something moving inside of it so i pulled the copper container case apart and out fell a little figurine looks like a little mother mary maybe made of puter or something heavy like that.any idea?
 
I'm not Catholic but I cant help but think that you have a small Madonna. It might have belonged to a soldier.

It sure would merit further research. Maybe you could get a priest in your area to have a look see.

They are still used today! You put them in your yard to help sell your house!
They sell kits for it still! I saw it on the news a week or so ago!

One (the saint) is supposed to buried in the yard. Not only that, but its supposed to be buried upside down. This is supposed to help your house sell.

Well, this was new to me but it is St. Joseph and believe it or not you can buy a "home selling kit" complete with St. Joe to bury upside down. Guess it works... you bought the house didn't you? :lol:

Yup what we call a saint in a box... date cw era to around 1900... soldiers and others c0uld carry the saint in their pockets in the little case and take them out at prayer time
 
i did see one on ebay and its stated it joseph holding baby jesus and soldiers carried them,but a lot of responses that it helps you sell your house?its called a pocket shrine
