Today was a little better

I went back to this old town I visited last Monday. One of the older residents
gave me permission to MD her propeerty. Nice lady. Its a huge area.

I started in back and mentally marked out an area about 15x30 and worked it to death before getting rained out.
Can't go back until next Tuesday. I plan to do the entire site this way, marking out a section at a time and
working it to death.

Only found a 1945 war nickel and a wheat cent, two moderen dimes and a couple moderen day
pennies. The rest was just odd
s and ends..

The ladies neighbor found a Vnickel while playing around out in her garden, so that encouraging. There is
probably some good stuff at the site I'm working.

Alright, man!:thumbup:WTG!:clapping:Congrats on the war nickel!:cheers:Nice hunt! Happy Hunting!:)

Keep plugging away. You may stumble upon some goodies even if it's just artifacts. What kind of silverware is it or is it silverware?

A War Nickel is a great find in my book. When I get a silver coin it automatically makes any hunt a good one no matter how mediocre the rest of the loot is.

Congrats on the war nickel and the rest of your great finds.

That is the stuff that I look for when I am at a site. It gives you a clue as to what the people were like and what may have went on around the house and if you hit a "honey hole". That is why I suggested you grid the place. You may find some coins in those spots as well. People back then used to picnic alot in there own yards so those places are good to find. I hope you find alot...I think you will with time ;)

Keep us posted and those are good finds to me. Of course I am a history buff of all things so anything old is a good find in my book.
