Tried a new beach today. Was suprised at how crowded it was (forgot today was a holiday). Spent about 3 hours in the wet sand to knee deep. Water was unproductive. Bagged myself $3.25 in clad, the usual pulltabs, bottle caps and scrap. Got two large hoop earrings. I was hoping for silver, but alas, they were junk. Also picked up a copper ring. Since this beach is closer to our urban area, the amount of rude and inconsiderate people was more than I was used to. Had the opportunity to meet another detectorist today. Don was his name and he is a regular at this beach. Don is an older gentleman and seemed friendly enough. Long time hunter. He even bagged himeself a nice citizen watch. Unfortunately, after Don went on his way, I had the opportunity to observe the craters that he left in the beach. A few were definite ankle breakers. I was approached by one of the state employees inquiring about Don, as they had recieved some complaints about his numerous unfilled holes. I didnt have the opportunity to see Don again. If anyone who hunts JBSP knows Don, maybe they can give him a heads up and encourage him to fill his holes before we find ourselves losing the right to hunt one of our premier beaches. If we can dig it, we best be able to fill it, or dont dig it at all. Well enough of my rant.... All in all a good day. Hopefully I will see gold in my scoop again soon....

cuse at them , give them a great big smile,
