Thought I would give the area of the park where I dug the seated quarter and dime one last go around. Didn't expect to find much as I've pounded that spot for the last couple weeks. Was surprised to start the day by digging a 1899 Barber dime. A few minutes later I was really surprised to dig the 1887 seated liberty dime. If was an "iffy" signal and I didn't really expect to see silver come out of the hole. Next find was a 1937 mercury dime. Followed that with the 1889 and 1886 Indian head cents. Was hoping to dig a silver Roosevelt dime to complete my first dime slam but was thwarted by a 1918 mercury dime instead. Finished the morning off with a 1906 Indian head cent and headed home to do some work around the house. About 4 hours later Charles calls to tell me he's at the same park so I get the urge to go back to see if I could get the silver Roosie. Gave it the old college try but could only muster an 1943-D and another 1918 mercury dime, a crusty 1897 Indian head cent and a 1915 Buffalo nickel. All in all a great day with my best one day silver total in years. Can't remember the last time I got 7 in one day. Charles scored a couple great semi-key Indian heads and a Barber dime also.
