Took a dive today in my lake that has been producing the post Civil War bullets. At the end of the dive I found a pile of 11 within about 8 inches of each other. All dated 8 1892. The gold ring in the lower right hand corner is 4.78 grams of 14K with an inscription inside as follows: VIRTUS JUNXIT - MORS NON SEPARABIT. The small key to the left says Key to the Windy City. Its 18K gold plate over Sterling. Silver religious medal and one wheat penny. The pocket watch has seen better days!! Wasn't a bad dive, Just got cold and decided only one today. 139.00 in gold.
Brass religeous medal on a chain and a brass bracelet , the long whatsit and a can opener were my other finds. Only thing I can think that whatsit is for is an old metal fish hook remover. There are 2 blades on the end with a space between them. Thanks for looking.
