Todays hunt and 18" hole with stuff in it

TURNMASTER

So on the way back to the truck (and I use that term loosely took me another hour to get back to the truck), I hit a good signal and out pops a token. This was my first good signal, I mean target, in about a 1 hour hunt. 10 feet later the Imperial Union thingy pops out. Then nothing for 100 yards.

Well nearly back to the truck I crossed an area I have gotten a couple coins before, when I see a hole 18"sq. I thought to myself that I couldn't have left that. I didn't. The guy that dug there had come thru behind me. He hit a patch I had not yet. Well now I swept the hole and it had a Nickel and two Memorials in it. I guess I had best go back and sweep his other holes back over near where I found that Barber last week.

[attachment 161436 bar.JPG] I wonder what 5c would have bought at the bar? A whole beer?

Any Idea what Andrew Andersons was? I think it must have been some kind of bar or casino or hotel?

I would also like to know what the Imperial Union thingy is used for.
Any Ideas?

part of a suspender clip. the token is likely late 1800's to early 1900's. Bar token for a 5 cent dring. Nice digs

Congrats on the nice finds! Yes, you need to follow that uncaring detectorist around and get the stuff he leaves behind and also to fill-in his holes! They are the kind who give us all a bad name and keep us losing good places to go :detecting: ! If you see him and can talk to him, maybe you can remind him not to leave any holes unfilled! Sure would help our hobby! Okay, so I don't do much swingin' and diggin' any more but I used to and would again, if I felt better and was able to be more agile! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty
