Todays hunt went great

NH Bob

New member
There were only 10 hunters plus myself, 2 from NY, 1 from Tenn., 1 from Wisconsin, 6 including myself from NH and 1 from Mass. Hope I got this right.
Finds were numerous. Lots of Buttons, about half of them had some kind of design. My best Button was small and had an Eagle holding an anchor. Others consisted of an Eagle on a Cannon, a star in the center of one and ornate designs plus a square button. Other items were a RR fob and various old relics.
Coins were a couple Indian head cents, an 1823 Large, a 1788 Conn., a 1779 Large and an 1807 Large.
Of course I forgot my camera but others had theirs and pictures will be posted.
All and all we had a great time and everyone was a pleasure to be around. Metal detecting as a hobby and the people who do it are a rare group. When you get together with a bunch of folks like this, it is more like a family get together even though I have never met most of these guys before.
My personal thanks goes out to everyone who attended todays hunt.

I was a little worried that there would be no good finds. It's very hard to do a natural hunt for just that reason.
It was a scorcher and muggy, we went through 2 cases of bottled water. But the day was well worth it just to meet some great guys.
I will be hunting tomorrow with Golddigger from Tenn. and his fried Tom from Wisconsin.

Fantastic job, Bob! You pulled off yet another great hunt. The promise of Colonial relics and coinage was true, as today's finds clearly demonstrate.

I've owned the Explorere SE Pro for only two weeks, but thanks to Bob's advice, I've been able to milk the machine for all it's worth!

It was an honor and a pleasure to rub elbows with the people I did today. New faces! Great people from way yonder!
Great to see familiar faces, too!

The numerous buttons unearthed today (ranging from 1700's to 1800's) clearly indicate that this field was in use a great deal. And where there are buttons, there's more... I was ecstatic to hold one of the best ever dug Connecticut coppers I've ever seen.

The highlights of my day were two tiny buttons (very ornate), one Indian Head Penny (no date yet).

I forfeited lunch, opting for an occasional trip to Bob's truck for water; it was while on one of these trips that I found the IH. While hunting, I routinely swing for up to six hours without anything more than water. Today was special.

Happy and safe hunting to all!

Wish I could have been there!

for pulling off such a great hunt - I just got home from vacation, but had I been home would have loved to have taken part - maybe we can hook up a little later in the summer. Best, Erik

Great time Bob, sorry we left early but those high temps and long ride wore us out. My best find was the eagle I button. Also found a flat button, and some kind of finial.AJ will post soon with our pics. Pleasure meeting everyone and hunting together, hope we can do it again sometime.

OK Bob, sign me up - Septermber is not too good for me, but October (mid or later should be fine) - would be fun to join you then! Best, Erik

That is Bob with his new fix for the Pro coil, that I found waaaayyyyydown the far end of the field. He about had a laughing fit when he saw it. I picked it up and yelled over to Jules and said Bob probably doesn't even know, he is just happy as a little kid in a hey field looking for old coins. He didn't even know it came off. Whats Plan "B" Bob?

[attachment 97961 P10106401.JPG] On the way to Keene I went into Hillsboro and saw some massive Hot air Balloons behind the trees, tried to get camera out quick enough but only got a pic of 1, its not easy going 55mph and try to get pics.....they must have this Hot air balloon fest every year.

Had a great time as usual, looking forward to next hunt, count me in Bob, Hope to see Brian and Jules and RelicHunter Bob and more new people this time. Thanks for the delish cantalope Brian, and the cooool water Bob and RH Bob for bringing in your Bullet book, I will have to get a mic to get the sizes of those 3 ringers I found last week.

Heres a few more pics I took.

Enjoy the Saturday hunt, but next time please not on the surface of the Sun! Hot is a under statement.

But other then that had a great time. Did I set record for newest coin?

Thank you,

The heat was killer!

And besides hunting together, the other highlight would be you knowing my musical mates from across the pond! You know who I'm talking about!

All the best!
