Todays hunt

Today I spent about two hours at a church ball diamond. I was swinging my MXT with my 6" DD Excelerator coil. I dug a nice hand full of clad and a few other items including a nice gold 1997 HS class ring. It is from our local high school so the owner should not be hard to locate. I am sure he will be surprised to get it back. HH Dennis in Idaho

You are about to make someone very happy. The ring could have been mussing for 10 years. He is probably going to be shocked. Please let us know how things work out returning the ring and his reaction.

By the way, that is an outstanding coin count for a 2 hour hunt. And, is the patriotic angel also gold?

I'll bet he will not be as excited as I was when I popped the ring out of the ground.LOL When I find him I will let you all know. The little angel is just plated, but it looks nice. This photo is better of the ring. Looks like the day it was bought. HH Dennis in Idaho

I understand about your excitement when you found the ring. I have not found many gold items but every time it happens it is a huge thrill.

Your are right about the ring looking great. I can't see any wear on it at all. Could be that it was lost almost right away in 1997.

if i lost a ring , i would be so glad you found it because i know you would return it . and yet thear are other who would kill for a ring like that i think thear is a masion in heaven for you bro .

interesting finds with the car and the angel, valuable find with the gold ring. I'm envious of the number of clads and mixture of finds. What sort of site were you hunting?

That's a great haul Dennis. I hope you can find the owner of the class ring. My mother lost hers over 30 years ago and is still hoping someday someone will return it to her. Hope the person will be very grateful to you for returning it. Good luck and keep up the great detecting. Keep up posted please.
