Couple of my swinging buddies, Chris and Gerald, and I ventured into the mid town area and hunted an older city park. Ground here was bone dry and digging pretty tough. Fortunately, a good slug of the targets were near some trees and any grass damage will be minimal. We each dug pretty good numbers of clad and cents, but only 1 silver coin, a 50d. I got it, along with 3 rings. I dug the first ring pretty near right off. In fact, it might have been my first target dug. It is sterling & 10k g f. The next ring I recovered is the horseshoe ring marked 10k g f. (junker) The last 1 has Vic/Cindy on it and is marked 925. And yes, I dinged it. It had a bit of depth to it and I nailed it in the hard ground. Along the way I did manage a 57d wheat cent and a scout belt buckle, of any other consequence. I was swinging the F 75 LTD with the 5" dd coil and sen of 70-85, (depending on how near I was to some power lines) disc 7, 3h tones, de mode and g b of 69-74. We'll hit this spot again once we get some much need rain. HH jim tn
