Todays rainy day gold coin, my second!

This is a cruel trick to play on a guy, to open up the plug and see a gold coin staring up at you and it be Canadian. Second time it happened. No offense to my neighbors to the north, but nobody takes them here in Idaho. And yes I did scratch it, thanks for noticing. Sorry if you thought it was the real deal, I'll find one someday and post it. Todays, rainy day find!

This looks like a 50 Pence coin? Yes, I've dug before what I thought was a gold coin but quickly realised....nope, not this time! Some fertilizer's and soil additives will color coins copper and sometimes gold tones and it gets your heart a-fluttering for a few seconds!! My ultimate metal detecting dream would be to detect a hoard of gold coins like the Saddle Ridge Hoard from last year. Hey.....dreams don't cost anything!!!

Its a loony! Essentially brass. The fact that it was "gold" colored and not green just means it wasn't lost very long ago.

I thought those were magnetic...i found one this summer in the ocean.. hey its better than just a quarter. ...

only way I can find a double eagle is to buy em....got these today in the mail and I'll be eyeballing them during commercial breaks tonight while watching Gold Rush on tv and then they will get hidden tomorrow with their friends....

Ha! Yep, I had a heart attack on a Mexican big gold looking coin once too! Yes, Firday night is Gold Rush Night!:clapping:

Hey I didn't know that was back on! How many episodes in are we? I wonder if I can catch up? Is Bering Sea Gold back on too? I like that one too.

Loonies are magnetic and have a brass plating over steel, there have been several "mixes" but all magnetic.

Yeah, a heart stopper when the glint of yellow metal appears! We all hope to dig a real gold coin, they are just the most elusive item on most hunters wish list.
Next time!
