Today's sweaty digs

Sweated a few gallons today but got about a hundred coins and a nice silver necklace, intact. As you can see, the coins were mostly deeper and crudded up. I was digging quieter signals, whispers, and almost every one was a coin. I had gone over this site a week ago and got all the easy coins already.

Man, it was humid - probably way up to about 25 %. I know you all laugh at that but living here in the arid climate 25 % is very noticeable when the normal is about 6 %. That's what the good Lord made sweatbands for :) I guess there's no perfect place. Good luck if you get out this week . steve in so az

Congrats Steve and you did a good job digging for the chain or was it just hidden in the grass? You didn't cut it and it is a thin one! About 100 coins with silver is a very good day of :detecting: The weather here has been nice and not so humid! We usually have high humidity and it melts a person down to their knees or does me anyway! The weather people were saying that July was a very cool month for us this year! :) A/C bills a little cheaper too! Praise God and Thank You, Jesus! Amen!

Looks like you will need a new digger after digging that many coins.
 
don't forget to drink plenty of fluids = probably don't have to tell you that but someone else might benefit if they read this.
 
Betty - the chain was a few inches down in chip bark. Got the signal and scuffed the bark with my foot & there it was.


7cents - I'm on my third Lesche digger in the last 25 years. I sharpen them once in a while but the ground is almost always hard here. Not nice soft loam like the woosies in Michigan have :) Steve
 
I always liked those easier finds.....just kick the chips off or scoop them off with the digger! Our ground is probably softer than where you are, but in the hot, dry weather of summer the soil can get like concrete, especially on ball fields where the grounds are stomped on a lot by ball players! :rolleyes: God Bless!
