I found this interesting metal ball in my backyard metal detecting today. Im not so sure what it is, But i do think its very cool :D
 
looks like it could possibly be a muzzle loader round ball.
if that is a hole on the top, it could be an old fishing weight,
if not likely a round ball.
 
well lead wont rust, so if there`s no hole, likely a round ball, very nice find.
might want to hunt that area a little more, bound to be some other goodies hiding there for you..

Is it magnetic> or lead ?
 
yep, if its magnetic could be a large metal bearing out of something .
CV joints or a million other things use large metal steel balls in them.
should have asked, is it indeed lead.
 
Do you live in an area where there was gold or silver mining? It could be from an ore ball mill, one of the steel balls. I've found them by the bucketful at old ore mill sites.
