Tonal quality

My biggest hope with this detector is that Minelab stayed with the tonal quality of the Explorer/E-trac line.

It is by far the best I have ever seen and what makes them so good. They sound more like a musical instrument than some beep generated from a computer if y'all know what I mean. Love that "flutey" sound of silver.

Without violating any secrecy agreement, I hope Digger can let us know if the ctx will sound like my E-trac. If it doesn't, it may be an automatic pass for me.

eheheh. Digger is using his version of morse code.

I'm sure there are more audio options on the new E-Trac,... I mean CTX3030. As another user said, the numbering almost makes one think of a newer 3040 coming out later. What is 3030 stand for anyway?

Excellent point DrBob, I totally agree with you---and I do luv da morse code!------This machine is "growing" on me already! ---Can't wait till 5/11--AND 5/28!---------Del
