tones

Single.
Now, someone will say you can get a "high tone" or "low tone" instrument, but that only means that the audio can be made to be one pitch or another and locked in - it is not variable or selectable.

The only drawback to the V? It's monotone. Give it the tone circuit of the Golden and it would be nigh on perfect.
I've asked James Gifford about it - he remains silent.

Some people like that extra step of discrimination, and other find it a distraction. I've been in both boats myself, but Tesoro certainly has a good jumping off place to do different things(Cortes II or DeLeon II or perhaps an upgraded Golden called the Platinum) using its newest circuitry.

Yes the Vaq is Single tone, but depending how deep you go, it goes from loud to a faint whisper, deeper targets low sound. Used the xterra 50 before the Vaq, Multi tone ID meter, Depth meter, feel I'm better off with the Vaq you just have to dig to be sure. Had so many targets with the xterra 50 that said large piece of silver/coin, turned out to be a large piece of iron, problem is if it says its iron you have to dig it to be sure.

As I've said before, I like the Goldens' tones.
It isnt for those who wont persevere with it, I agree. The tones can be distracting, at first.
What I did was pull the batteries from all other detectors and only used the Golden for several months. It was a bit nerve wracking, but that'll make you learn it pretty quick.
Like all Tesoros, it is amplitutde modulated, meaning it gets softer as the target gets deeper. This is double edged sword. It is easier to miss these deeper targets if you're not careful.
But whatever floats your boat. I use all of them and will have the Vaquero out today - and the Golden.
Good hunting.

Hi Tseeker,

The V and the C are single tone as they said.

I've owned both.

It would be nice if you could try different ones.

I couldn't do that, there are no dealers close.

I got a BH with Multi-tone, depth meter and Display. It didn't do right for me.

So, I got a Garrett with a Multi-tone, depth meter and Display. Still, not right.

Then a dealer talked me into trying a Cibola. I didn't know anything about Tesoro's.

When I got it, I could not believe this little knot on a stick was conna be a metal detector.

It just didn't seem right. How would I know what to dig with just a single tone beeper?

I forgot all that real quick.

The first time I took the Cibola out, I fell in love with it.

I have owned six different single tone Tesoro's. I still have four.

Every one has suited me just fine.

It's not for everyone, but I sure think it's nice.

HH,
