A mother pigeon and a baby pigeon were preparing to fly back north after spending the winter in the south. Trying all types of logic, the mother pigeon was having a difficult time convincing her new baby that he, too, could fly hundreds of miles to their summer destination. "I can't make it, I'll get too tired," cried the baby pigeon. "Don't worry," the mother pigeon assured him. "I'll tie a piece of string to one of your legs and the other to mine."
The baby pigeon began to cry. "What's wrong?" his mother asked. "I don't want to be pigeon towed," the baby pigeon replied.
