Since Sherry works all week long and Sunday is the Lord's day, Saturday is our day together for a day long date that takes us to who knows where. We try every Saturday to go somewhere new. Today was Alpena.
On the way there, we passed a guy who had gotten out of his car in his yard and we saw him carrying a metal detector to his house. It was a black detector...not sure who makes it. We thought about stopping to talk to him but continued on.
We had a chance to stop at a small pier jutting out into Lake Huron at Alpena. Here we saw a water detectorist:

We did go talk with this individual. His name is Daryl Beyer (hope I spelled your name right or was close) He is a member of the Northeast Huron Detecting Club. We had a good chat about detecting, detectors and clubs...he knows Al of ProStock and of the Southwest Michigan Seek and Search club.
If you happen to see this Daryl we had a very enjoyable time chatting with you. Hope you did well today detecting and thanks for taking the time to chat with us.
On the way home we stopped at Oscoda where Wurtsmith Air Force Base once existed. It is closed, no military there and other companies have bought buildings there to work from. I wanted to detect there but not knowing the layout of the base or former base, I did not know where to look. Maybe next time.
We had to stop along the way and shot a picture of Jesus. It looked like He was bowling. We have an inside joke with a lady friend about bowling balls (she decorated them and puts them in her garden) so the picture was for her.
Doesn't it at first glance look like Jesus with a bowling ball??

He's got the whole world...He's got the whole wide world...He's got the whole world in His hand(s).
Even though I had the detectors in the van, I never got them out to detect...just aired them out again.
We ran into some rain on the way home and was treated to these pictures of the sky.

We had a great day together and the evening got even better when we got an email back from our Pastor about a concern we had about ordaining weird people (message posted below somewhere). We feel relieved we will not have to find a different church as we had feared we might have to do.
Hope everyone else had a good day. Sorry to hear about Mike from Chicago's friend Gene.
