Took an old friend detecting today

All this talk about new machines inspired me to take out a dear old friend today for a couple of hours. This was my first detector with target ID numbers. My toughest decision was deciding which coil to swing. Being a concentric fan, I quickly narrowed it down to the 950. Took it to an empty city lot that has really been pounded lately. If I'm honest, I had to do a quick search to remember how to properly ground balance it. After that it was just like old times. Sure was easy to hear deeper/fainter targets,,, at least the few that were left. For my efforts I was rewarded with a single wheatie, some older clad and an old purse latch.

Might try it again soon with the little 6" concentric. :)

For sure, take the F5 out, several times. great detector. I used to have an MXT but opted for the 'better' MXT Pro. Liked it, but still liked the F5 better witgh more adjustment control.
