Put the 10"concentric stock coil on the F70 for the first time this morning...hit a spot I go to lots, its a soccer field with all sorts of fill and scrap, so I thought it would be a good place to try it out. It took me about 10 minutes to get used to its small size compared to the 11"dd. 2hrs, 54 coins, 5.44 and a 42 wheat.
I noticed that a fellow can run this much hotter than the dd. I was running 53 sens through it all, and could tell the depth was limited on coins with this low a sens. Dead on accurate TID and PP. Hit a tight spill of 4 Q's, easier to identify and unravel than with the 11. Hit another of 2 Q's...hit 2 dimes 3" deep and 4" apart, got up tight to the chain link, it was good!...So I think you guys were right, this is a great coil for shallow clad stabbing in a trashy environment. I'll use the 11" on the beach, and in the deep clean soil, and this one should be way more awesome in the totlots, and for fresh drops in thick grass. It was sort of frustrating at first because it seemed so small and I had to adjust my swing and stride. I'll keep it on for a while and go to some of my other places with it.

Mud, nice 'gas money' haul. The First Texas elliptical concentric coil is very underrated IMHO. I use mine alot here in Idaho's mineralized soil. More than the 11" DD. I can run the sens at 95-99. Get really good depth. separation and hits silver hard. Use the concentric more often. I think you will like the results.

As a data point; on the F75LTD (I haven't used the F70) that 10 inch elliptical concentric coil is the one I like a little better than the 11 inch DD over wet salt sand at the beach. Seems to give away the iron a little better and needs a little less adjustment of the ground balance as the conditions change on the beach. Still need to stay on top of the ground balance ... just seems to give a little more leeway and makes the hunting just a little more relaxing.

Just don't be too surprised if you start digging a little deeper because of the expected improvement in ID at moderate depths. Still haven't put mine over a solid silver target yet at any depth that i could discern but I did get it going on those very noisy parkway reworks and it did do good job on the clad and a few buttons.

I went out again this am for another 2hrs. 34 coins, and a paper dollar for 3.43. I went and swept some former bleacher places I have taken the 11" and was glad to discover I didn't miss a thing. The 10 does get up closer to the totlot poles, and chain link, and I can run 75 sens or probably more. It does seem better unraveling tight spills, and in the trash. I need a couple hundred hours on it to really say conclusively, but it will be hard to beat the speed and coverage of the 11dd for fresh drops and shallow targets..I'll keep the 10 on for a while, it will get a good workout this weekend!
