well it was real nice day today got out of work early and decided to go to a local ski area parking lot and see what i could find, nothing speacial but it was real nice to hunt! that big washer plug thing not sure what it is but does say ford on it in the old style lettering and the only good coin i got was 1949 -s wheat penny

Glad you could get out and hunt. What do you think of the Gamma?

good detector really like that 5" coil i could tell what was pulltabs and the goodies, nickels though was unpredictable i dug from anywhere from 54 to 61 kind of a crazy spread and noticed they did not lock on the very best unless they still had there luster, another thing i like is super light, iwas watching the FEO meter the ground was very hot in places sometimes would read vh mineralization and was stable with a number of 68 on average then there was another spot i tried just up the road and soil was pretty mild there and ground balance number would run about 79 but i will say i'm looking for a SEF coil reguardless what people say about it, but super machine for the money!

Maybe the particular area you were in or your location in general. All my nickel finds so far have been a solid 57 for up to about 4 inches and then 56/57 or 57/58 for deeper or older targets with a solid tone from all directions. No clicks or blips which most of the time means a new style pulltab. Glad you like your Gamma as I also believe it is a fantastic detector for the money, and quite stable too. Another 21 days before I can use mine again. Take care and HH.

I am a tow boat relief captain and have been steering boat and barges up and down the rivers of this great country since 1989. My schedule is 28 days on and 28 off. I go home in 20 days. This schedule allows me to detect till I drop ( after the honey do list that has built up over the previous 28 days of course). I am happy the weather is changing cause my local hunting spots are running low due to my passion for detecting!

Oh man you must be old like me! Only old people would remember that group LOL! Take care and HH!

Hi capt. what type of coil do you use with your Gamma on the beach? I have a Gamma on the way and I want to do some beach and relic hunting.
