Took the XL Pro out yesterday and found 6 coins, BUT

Five of the six were Indian heads and the other a 1910 Wheatie. Indians soaking to clean them up but were 1891,1894,1897, and (2) 1906's. I know the Pro loves silver but I have found over 100 Indian Heads in the past 3-4 years with it. It has given me my oldest coin finds! What more can I say the XL Pro w/ 5.3 coil is a KEEPER.

Awesome! With all the hubbub on the new Vision, you just go to prove that an XL in skilled hands is still a killer. Bet with you finding so many Indians, that the site had been picked over for silver and copper and those Indians were left with the zinc for you to find. Great going!

I have hunted this site 3 or 4 times in the past. It is an old church site now a bean field. Has been a farm field since 1912. Seems the old church was brick as thousands of brick sill in the field along with a lot of trash and square nails. I have only found two silver coins there in the past 1899 Barber Quarter and a 18?? seated dime. Probably have dug close to 30 Indians though over the past 3 years. It's just several acres to wander in and I can only get in there in early Spring or Fall after crops are out.

Sounds like a great place to hunt. Maybe it was a poor congregation and all they had were pennies? Gotta be some silver there somewhere, but even if not, Indians are a super great find too. Keep it up.

Gotta love the Pro! Hit a site yesterday that just keeps producing older coins (past finds include 2 large pennies and a 1858 flying eagle) and got a bouncing penny/ nickle signal.Yep, 1924 penny and a 1905 v nickle all but bonded together.DBULL

I hope you left a few for seed! HH Randy

I have to date not found a large cent or a flying eagle cent. Been detecting since 1973!! I am convinced that my area just isn't quite old enough to hold many of either. I've found over 200 IH's, including both 1859 &1909s for a set of book ends.
Again congrats on the finds.
