Townsite demolished...what a bummer!

Last year I detected a couple of yards in a tiny town not far from me. I was told that a corporation bought out the remaining residents, and the plan is to demolish the town and build a 90 million dollar international oil/grain distribution hub. I went back in the fall, but the one lone resident basically told me to get lost (he is a bug). My plan was to hurry back there this spring and detect as much as I could before they start the demo (the bug moved away during the winter). Well, long story short, there is still much snow, the ground that is exposed is frozen solid, I drove out there today to check it out and this is what I found...DEMOLISHED

In a couple of short hunts last fall at this site I found various wheat cents, a spill with a Canadian silver quarter along with a no date SLQ, several silver dimes, a squished silver quarter, gold plated cuff link, a 1914 5cent silver fishscale and a sterling pocket watch case.

What a shame...I'm sad to see this little town with lots of pioneer history wiped out.

You might want to have someone check out
that 1914 5cent silver fishscale. Some of those
are quite valuable.

Should be some good stuff to find once the weather warms.
