Tracker IV- lost and found...

slingshot

A couple of weeks ago, I guess I left my Tracker IV somewhere(?) And I went to all the places I'd been-no luck. Yesterday I stopped by a park where a mañ and his son jumped outta their car with-yeah, you guessed it--my Tracker. How do I know? If anyone has one, you know the 4 face screws are black. Having read a post about adjusting the trimmer, I tried it and knocked the four screws off my lap where I was hunting and found only one. So after kicking myself:veryangry: I went home and could only find silver-looking screws to replace them-and they were oval shaped like wood screws. Need I say any more?
Well, the guy said he had just bought it from a guy in Jefferson, Texas. I looked at his son's face, walked off saying at least I know what happened to it. Didn't have the heart.
So why am I writing this? I know a couple of guys in Jefferson- and just in case-there's no problem. A little boy's happy. But I KNOW.

So dig some change out of your couch, find the coupon and go get another one.
You're a good man for not saying anything because knowing they were hunting with a "tainted unit" would probably have taken away some of their joy if they were also good and moral people, or it might have caused them to go into defence mode if they were not.
Not a positive outcome either way so you were smart.

Hey, we find and sometimes sell other's property all the time, this time it went the other way.
It happens...I think you will gain some Karma points at least, learned a lesson about keeping your eye on your stuff, too.

A guy on another forum lost a CTX the same way and hasn't seen it since, bet that hurts a bit more than this scenario.

It was just a scout machine for oft searched places- it skipped tons of foil and the like with little audio blips that kinda let you know it was probably trash, and at the same time had the split tone for tabs. The biggest factor was the weight and speed to just skim over sites that were mainly weekly "refills". I've had 5 versions of the machine and it was just one of those "fun" things to grab for a change. But, I was a kid once.....

Well said revier...

It's getting real bad out there with stuff like this, a couple years ago I was weed eating my front lawn, Sat the weed eater down to go to my garage about 40 feet away, heard a car stop in front of the house and you guessed it, no more weed eater. This all happened in less than a minute. Taught me a good lesson.

Yeah. What got me was my van keys are also missing and I still can't for the life of me remember anything about that a.m. Maybe it's that time in my old age I'm starting to lose track of things.:stretcher:
