I agree the low setting for the places I hunt seems pretty useless according to all the trash that seems to be everywhere. One thing for sure the Safari will pick up everything, rust and all. I have yet to find any place that I would consider a clean field. There seems to be some type of Iron or something in the ground everywhere I go. Alot of times I really dont get it. Why do you find stuff in the ground that is hundreds of yards from anything? It still amazes me that you can find things in places where it just doesnt seem to belong.
Tried 5 inch coil and it worked fine with low trash and auto sens in area of park where old building burned. However it is hard to get good coverage and is to slow . Switched to 10 inch DD and had to use sens 4 and high trash to get it to shut up and detect. Depth suffers but the clad was only 3 inches deep at most and with better coverage picked up dimes and a quarter I had missed during the previous hour. As for being accurate I always know I am going to get a pull tab and dig anyway. Almost never fooled on a coin if I switch to all metal and verify when iffy.
