Trashy Park Pattern missed 4 Coins and 9 pieces of Jelwery

I Downloaded the Trashy Park Pattern and loaded it into the emulator. I then re-ran all the coins in the emulator file and using Auto Latch Accept to accept the 4 coins the pattern rejected next I did the same for Gold and Silver Jewelry to accept the 9 items it rejected. This has become my new opened-up trashy park pattern. By doing this you open up areas for gold and also the nickel area for gold. If your not finding Nickles then your missing out on some Gold also. Try it on the Emulator and you will begin to see what a great learning tool the Emulator can be. You can see silver coin and silver jewelry share the CO numbers alot of the time. E-Trac users find more silver jewelry because they open up their screen for silver and use too much discrimination for junk missing Gold. Listen on the Emulator to the 3 penny sounds and you can tell a Zinc. Then listen to a Zinc and a $20 Gold coin same FE CO numbers CO37,38,39 thats why everyone says to learn to go by tones not numbers. Oh! I'm New But I've been following all the forums and videos for the pass 2 years to learn all I can. Save the original pattern First, in the combine functiion Edit it with Auto Latch Accept so you can visually see the differences and save both in my patterns.

Excellent idea.

I've not tried the 'Trashy Park' pattern that many out there have. I have a few of my own patterns and settings that I like, but I am interested to see and hear what others are doing along with their results. There are times and places for lots of discrimination and times and places to use a lot less. It is the wise person who knows the time and place for each.

Best of luck to you out there.

your building patterns on the emulator and then up loading to the etrac ????? did not know you could do that

Jeff63, I would love to see what that opened up program looks like, Message me and I will send my email if you would send me the pattern. I am in Idaho and there is lots of Iron in the soil, I would try any pattern a few times. A few patterns that I have tried really worked well when I didnt think they would. Idigid

No.,I created the original Trashy Park Pattern, on the Emulator Download ,from this site. Then ,I used Edit Combine and opend up the pattern by using the emulator files for coins, gold jewelry and silver julery. When I ran the files thru I noticed the Trashy park pattern discriminated out 4 Coins and 9 pieces of gold and silver jewelrey so I ran all the files thru again useing Auto Latch Accept . By doing that it accepted them and opened up that original pattern to accept all coins and jewelry. If you use the original pattern then your going to miss 4 coins and alot of jewelry, especially Gold jewelry. By creating both patterns on the emulator you can see the big differance in the patterns and the effect it has on the FE 11,12,13 line. It will show a pattern that accepts everything you want with still alot of Discrimination. I 'm building patterns on the emulator because I don't own the E-trac yet as I said I'm new to this and I'm trying to teach myself everything I can thru the forum and videos I watch before I get my E-Trac this spring.

There is a world of difference between the emulator and real hunting. The trashy park pattern was never meant to find jewelry, if you want the gold, you have to open up to accept everything above iron. So exactly what 4 coins was the pattern missing?

The Flying Eagle cent, 3 cent nickle, Head cent cooper nickel and the $2.50 Gold Quarter. I wasn't thinking in terms of Gold. I was concerned if I used the pattern in a trashy Park that I would be missing Gold and Silver Jewelry. The only coins that others are still finding Is the 3 cent pieces and the Flying Eagle that I don't want to miss if I can Modify the pattern and If I was aware of what any pattern can do and not do. If you don't test the pattern on the emulator you wouldn't know ahead of time before you field test it. As I said, I'm trying to use the emulator to learn how to navigate the E-trac and learn how to create patterns and change settings and with the files and the effects are on any changes to the patterns and settings. I appreciate your reply very much and I totally agree with you. In the ground out in the field is going to be different because of all the variables. Thanks again and I wish you the best,

You are right.....;o)

I do not see why silver jewelry would be missed unless it was real small. If you want to look for gold you would have to open up the pattern a lot because gold will hit from the foil area to the coin area. If that is the case I would not use the park pattern anyway. I would probably use Andys. Do you have a picture of how it looks after you modified it to accept the coins you mentioned? You could do a screen print and then save it. When are you getting your Etrac?
