Treasure Hunting Fairy Tale. (My Best Treasure in 2009!)

WOW Chris that story was totally awesome superseded only in awesomeness by the finding of that coin, just stunning :clapping:, i love finding gold rings & piles of newer coins but history is what it"s all about for me & that is a real piece of history congratulations :clapping::drinking::cheers::super:.
& as for the spelling & missing words we all do it, some more than others ( me ) & we can put it down to the excitement of the find .
your coin is 8 years to old for me to look it up in my big book of world coins but i"ll have a look on a few web sites i know.
congrats again.

Congrats on the reale:beers:May it be the first of many!:detecting:Happy Hunting:)

I found a site that had several different coins from the NG mint dated 1793 for sale. A half reale from 1793 for $97.00 and a 2 Reale from 1795 for $147.00. My coin would grade higer than both but there is the matter of that scratch and the hole. The hole doesn't bother me. I understand people back then sewed them into their clothes when the were traveling. My coin could have been used as a quarter up to just before the US Civil War. I think they demonetized them in 1857.

If you find a good resource please pass it along.

I'd still like to find just one decent gold ring this year.

Chris

You simply amaze me!

I am not saying anything else for fear of misspelling (did I spell that right?)

Hey I used spell check and it worked...I spelled all the words right!

My smile is fading just a little. I will say this. I put it in a 2x2 and took it out once to feel it in my hand. It feels good and it is interesting to think who might have been the last person to hold it before me.
