As to our trip - everything is going well, no problems to speak of. We are 1/2 way through now.
As to the detecting = I am finding it somewhat hard to dig much at most sites. I have had a couple places where I got a lot but a very noticeable absence of jewelry of all kinds. I guess there's just a lot more jewelry worn (and lost) back home. I rarely find charms, etc that are so prevalent at home. Part of my finds are also related to knowing the home site so well, I'm sure. In a new place one has to find places, get in and dig while spending a certain amount of time with living, visiting family, driving to the next place to live.
The great excitement though is to know that every new town has places to detect - maybe one that has been missed. This week before we leave Bilxoi I will get out in the surf with detector and scoop and give it the what for. seve in so az

Sounds like you guys are having fun. Where are you guys heading next? If you end up near our neck of the woods let me know!

We are going back to southern Louisiana - then northern Louisiana - then headed home. Steve

I've always wondered about the jewelry thing myself. I've been to a few "tot lots" as you call them. In fact, I just hunted a big one with the new machine; if there was something there, I think I would have found it. (considering I found some some very deep clad, tabs, foil...). In places like that, I don't even use any disc. I basically dig everything but iron.
However, I got a late start on them... could just be hunted out. On top of that we haven't had much of warm weather yet (I had frost on my car yesterday morning). So there really haven't been a lot of people in these parks.
I don't know what the answer is ... interesting how all the jewelry in So. AZ <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

we dont have a season like you - here year round people are in the parks & such. Secondly, I do believe they wear more in Az - lots of people with multiple bracelets, rings, necklaces. And we dont have coats and other cold weather wraps to catch things. Year round you see t shirts.
The people here also their worth on their bodies I think. Lots of Mr T types. Even the very small kids wear gold. Steve
