Before sending in my original F75 I did some side by side comparisons between my LTD and the F75.

Note the machine not being used was turned off and set at least 20' away from my test garden.

My main test was on a dime buried at exactly 6" flat.
On my original F75 set to sens 80, disc 6, 4H and DE. To start with I sweep the coil over the dime and slowly reduced the sensitivity until the dime went silent at a sensitivity setting of about 50.
Now I got my LTD and did the same test in the DE mode first and had basically the same results as the original F75.
Next I switched to BP mode and leaving all settings exactly the same as the other machine I sweep the coil over the dime until it went silent.
Totally amazed and not expecting the results, the dime went silent at a sensitivity setting of 14.
Now I was expecting the dime to go silent when the sens went from 30 to 29, but not at 14.
I might add this dime has been in the ground for over 3 years.

I have a question , if with the standard F75 and sens of 50 and the signal drops out .
Is that with the coil on the ground and if so
i wonder with the LTD how high you can lift the coil off the ground before signal drops out

I did test the air gap function.
The original F75 would loose the dime if I raised the coil over 2" above the ground when the sensitivity was set to 80.
Now the LTD set to sensitivity of 80 allow about 6" coil lift above the ground before the audio broke up.

Interesting stuff, mark. The air gap thing and how good it actually is was one of the first things I noticed about the LTD when I got it. With our city and county budgets so tight, many of our typical detecting sites are now only getting mowed every other week and how good the LTD works over 4-6" tall grass really makes a difference. I did use the sta am mode and where I have my test garden there is to much iron I left in the ground to test this mode. It sounds off over the entire area.
The sta am mode works very well if the ground is fairly clean.
