Hell-o Forum Thanks to Steve at KELLCO and their 14 day,80% trade up policy I bit the bullet and got a Tejon, and here is why. I think the layout of the controls makes more sense. I said in an earlier Outlaw page here that if the Tejon had the ED120 circuit I would want one---having said that it got me to wanting one anyway. Well it came in today and I got out into the trashy front yard I spoke of in the page about the Outlaw. I only had 1 hour with it before dark but I really liked it so far. The first thing I liked about it was its a little bigger in the face and my big fingers move about better going from nob to nob. Tuning was close to the Outlaws so I got some nickels, dimes, and quarters out of my pocket to see if I could find them---- on and in the ground. Found them! It was to easy so I started on the trashy ground. This thing has a bunch of power. Power is volts times amps and you can do more with 12 volts then 9v. I could bury a quarter at 8 inches deep and still get a good sound on the Tejon. I got out in the yard and the next thing I like is it is very easy to pin point even in discriminate. I got a smile on my face playing with the VCO because it brought back some good times I had with my old BFO. Sounded like the old BFO I started out with. I found about 5 old pull tabs, 1 piece of lead, and some iron before it got to dark. One of the iron things I found was a pipe about 14 inches down and it gave a thumbs up sound above foil. I was thinking of the words of Tejon blogs on the net that said the Tejon was a " IRON HOUND"-------- could be, but it will still find my pocket change in some pretty deep man made holes. I do like the 2 discriminators with the trigger. I really do wish Tesoro would make this with an ED 120 discriminater. I think it would make for a better Outlaw. I also like the variable tone control. I get tired of one tone I just turn the nob to a different pitch and my ears are good for another mile or so. The differant tones remind me of differant machines Ive had in the past. This thing is like having a little of all the past sounds. I liked the Outlaw and would like to get one to go with the Tejon because they are differant but if I can only get one it looks like for now the Tejon is more universal. I can't wait to get it out this weekend. Maybe Ill put my findings here. Thanks Tesoro for a very good line up of machines to choose from. I'm having a great time picking up my yard of trash just under the grass. R1200RT IF ITS NOT 64 OR BEFORE I GET SORE
