Trying to figure out a way to ease my arm

Is it feasible to dismount the electronic plastic house from the wand on a White's PI 1000 or PI 3000 and use it in a hip mount or chest mount arrangement in a pouch? I know it dismounts but I do not know about the pouch or whether it will work that way?
If so where do I buy the pouch?
 
While it is possible to do this and the machines would work. You would have to make your own pouch. I have to wonder why you are using such old machines. You should check into the new PI machines. You will get more depth on the good targets.

My PI 1000 was updated to a 3000 when I sent the 1000 in for repairs. Either works well for me simply because I am 54 and I get out to hunt in fresh or saltwater maybe 6 times a year. If I hunted weekly I would upgrade to something with discrimination but for now it's just an occasional hobby that I don't want to invest more money into. Your response seems to imply the the 3000 PI is outdated. I like the way it pinpoints dead still over the target. Newer is not necessarily better. Depends on what you are trying to do. I have 3 friends who have the latest machines and the only reason they find more is because they frequent the water weekly.

I will be 66 in two months. While I now understand where you are coming from. Just that there is in the new PI machines, at least the ones designed by Eric Foster. There has been a real big improvement in depth and the ability to find small gold items. That where I am coming from. And yes I do love this hobby.

I was seperating a lot of different machines as I used to hunt for long hours and long walks when I relic hunted in the south. In most cases you can break them down to hip mount or simular and they work fine. I sometimes had to lengthen the cables but it was just a matter of careful splicing and sealing the splices. On a pulse, it may make a difference if you lenghten the cable, I`m not sure how much though. As for a pouch, try a hardware or tool store. Some tool pouches should work. As older guys feel the weight after the hours. GH, John.
 
Gordon the whites pi 3000 came with a hip mount bag I still have a pi 1000 the bag I have was given to me by a friend who didn`t use it with his 3000 I mainly use a surfmaster with the pi 1000 as back up you know I still have friends who will not upgrade they are both senior people I think it might be they find the bone phone on the pi1000 a big help they still have plenty of great finds.
