1 thing I've learned is it takes patients with ef 75 .I've noticed several times less is more in the way of sensitivity does anyone else here agree with that statement. thank you jeremy man any comments will be appreciated

Bart from Big Boys Hobbies can point you to all the info you need on the f-75. Offhand, I don't have that info to get you to it.

Obviously you will want to run the SE as stable as possible and there are more then one way to achieve that. And, less sen. is one way. I personally like to run sen. as high as possible and in most places I hunt that is 85 and upward and in B P mode. Having had a regular F 75, a T2 and now the F 75 LTD, I have grown accustomed to hunting with a little chatter. Regardless of chatter, normal or heavier then norm, the first thing I do is to run through all the frequencies via frequency shift and try and select the one I feel is the most stable frequency. Then, if still to much chatter I began to lower the sen, but seldom hunt with sen less then 70-75. It will still go plenty deep, though, with a lower sen setting. I usually hunt with disc. of 0 to 4. If there is still some above normal chatter I will then increase the disc. to above 5......usually 6 and this usually curtails the chatter a little more. Using one of the smaller coils also helps. Having said all this, the type of hunting you do is also a factor. If the targets you are after are in the first 5 or 6 inches of ground you will hit most in the factory preset modes. Deeper coins, buttons, bullets and so on require maximizing your set up. Good luck! the F 75/SE is one great detector once learned. And, its not to bad right out of the box. HH jim tn

I completely agree with Jim who is a well know poster on here. I got a mint used one a few weeks ago on here and did a lot of reading up on it and just what Jim said is how to make the machine run it's best. I set it in the BP boost mode and I have left it there as it goes deeper and gives better VID readings on targets. I do the frequency check for quietest channel from F1 to F7 (F4 is factory). Then lower the sensitivity while test sweeping the coil till smooth with some slight chatter. I have left my discrimination at ZERO and my sensitivity is at 30. Then do a fast grab ground ballance and go hunt. Targets will bang on through good and pretty loud compared to any chatter you may here. Discrimination do as Jim stated if you want to run higher sensitivity instead you go from disc. 1 up to 4 then there is a gain loss of a good amount from 4 to 5 and then no added gain at 6 but you shouldn't go above 6. By staying at the lower discrims or none at all there is added gain so increased sensitivity hence even though I am at a sensitivity level of 30 it is still more than that from the added gain boost given by running it at the low or no discrimination levels and for a smooth running machine I still hit deep.

Honestly, due to the processor speed ..you will hit targets you do not find with other detectors. Th extra power in bp may confuse you at first on Pops, crackles and partial hits.

Like Jim said. If you have to, low sens still has plenty of depth. Shoulder to shoulder sweeps will work best for the ID capabilities on the F75.

Elton,

I know it talks about this shoulder to shoulder sweeps in the manual. But if you hit a good target somewhere in that swing and then hit 8 or 800 other trash items it knocks down your one good reading. Just wondering if this could be explained a little for real world.

Well you sure are correct on that WV62.. Maybe a better way to say it is factory recommends shoulder to shoulder swing for best sampling of targets.. You have to listen for the good target sounds, as audio is separate from ID........ Then once you hear the good tone and the junk sounds slow down and isolate out the good target.. It is tricky, but works pretty well in Trashed out parks etc.. The advantage in open field hunting is you can move along at a good brisk pace and feel confident you are hitting all targets under you coil....relying on the audio in conjunction with the target Id screen.

Can you add anything to that for more clarification WV62 ...... If so please... Post it... You may have a much better way to do the interpretation...

Factory Manual says ............... The above is only my interpretation

WHAT YOU SEE VS. WHAT YOU HEAR
The visual target ID displayed on the LCD is based entirely on sampled processing; the
number displayed represents a snapshot of the target

The situation you describe WV62 is pretty common place and this is where, besides doing the above, the DD coils come into play and really shine. Particularly, the smaller 5." I continue to be amazed at the good targets I dig right along with a trash item, or two, with the DD coils. In these types of situations, I dig strictly based on audio. It may just be a slight tone variation, whimper or a tic. HH jim tn

Thanks guys this gives me a solid idea on a starting point.i have a long way to go. This is week one on tbe 75 se

Nothing special for me I do the small coils, I like the 3 1/4 x 6 1/2 and I loiter over the target like I am not suppose to. I shorten my stroke to try and isolate the target.

I am still early in learning my F75se, but... I hated de, loved bp and now am enjoying AM motion. Lots to learn, but flexibility and power is awesome!
