TTF

I keep hearing everyone talk about the great results using TTF, am I missing something here. I have tried it a couple of times and it seems to be so noisy that I get discouraged. Is this something I just need to accept and work through or am I doing something wrong? I basically use Andy's coin program now, but would like something new in my arsenal.

Thanks
Steve

I have no desire to check the ID numbers for hundreds of pieces of can slaw, aluminum foil and similar modern trash with TTF at normal public sites but rather much prefer the coins mode for them.

I think it shines in heavy iron sites,,, but if your like me, and dig all the pull tabs and foil, then it works in the parks to,,

I'm with Ray on this one. If I'm at a place that I'm going to dig everything that is "non-ferrous", then I'll use it. Otherwise I use conductive tones. The downside is, that even in TTF, if I get a silver reading, I still have to go to Conductive and listen to that sweet sound.

With my hearing 4 tones is the same as multitone. I use TTF all the time. I just let my brain tune out the low tone and listen for the high tone. You get used to it after awhile. For me multitones drives me nuts like listening to a bad band tuning up. Checking ID numbers is just a quick glance at the conductive number.

I don't think I would use TTF at a public park either. Way to much junk that would ring up good. I do hunt Old sites with it around the cellar hole and SLOW. Just the other day I hit a LC that I picked from a LOT of iron. I don't think I would have hit it in my normal pattern which is just a modified stock coin pattern Multi and conductive. I hunt a lot of yards and love conductive sounds.TTF is a great tool in your bag. I know there's guys that hunt it all the time but I hunt by sound and size with a little depth and pull out the TTF when the Null gets to be too much.
