Rain expected tomorrow (Sunday) so we got in a short hunt at the beach late on Saturday afternoon. With my younger son (Riki) this time. Actually, two beaches. First, a quick look at a different beach to the west of the usual one, CLICK HERE for a few pics of that beach.
It is to the west of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, watch a video here re. the construction of that.
And a view from space here.
In short, the beach is very clean! I kept checking my detector just to see if it was on! Got the earring (in the pic) but other than clearing away a couple of drink cans, that was it. Will go back with a bigger coil and spend more time there and check it out at low tide too.
On the way back from the first beach we stopped at the usual one and tried a spot with many small broken shells, lots of pull tabs near the surface there, cleared away some of them and ended up with a wide silver ring each - his one is on the left and coins at the bottom - around US$2.40 for him and US$7.90 for me.
Amazingly warm temperature for November - 24C!
