two days beach finds

Hello All. I went out for two days to the gold coast beaches for a good result of finds. Stayed over night with my sister in law. The first day I found 53 coins for a total of $47.05.. The next day I found 70 coins for a total value of $51.00. There was a 20cent coin from New Zealand and a pre decimal silver florin from our early money. Over the two days total of 123 coins and $98.05. I found a variety of other items. One ladies silver ring (.925) with a heart shape green stone in the middle and two clear stones each side with a crown on top. This ring gave a strong sound at 37number and was deeper than the detector showed at the bottom of the scale. I was picking up our $2.00 coins around the same depth and i would say that some of the deep ones were close to 14inches. I am using the wot 15inch coil for the beach. The other ring was also a.925 silver with a woven braded circle that turned around the middle of the out side of the ring. two earrings one was a small figure of a fish and the other had an oval silver casing holding a pale pink stone and it was also marked .925.the other item was an oval silver plated wrist bracelet and had a row of twenty small clear stones around the out side on one side. There was also a square silver coloured and badly corroded play boy bunny that had a turning square centre. There is a connecting loop on top. One nokia mobile phone that had seen better days.a toy car a couple of keys and a lighter. I had a good time but the winter has set in and the cold wind was blowing. Thats it for another week. All the best. Stan. from Australia.
Ps.i can see that some of the other members are also doing well in there finds .Well

That's a lot of loot. $$$ Couple nice jewelry pieces too. Wish the beaches here in Ohio were as productive. Not so. Gotta get to the ocean. Thats were the big $$$ stuff is.

Hello Stan, you are doing very well with the Quattro! I love the finds, and in two days detecting only! So, what's you verdict thus far with the Quattro, and are you still using your Sovereign? The difference between the two? I'm really interested.
HH Angela
P.S. Will be finally heading to the beach myself next week for a few days, can't wait!:detecting::)

A couple of GREAT days I would say.....that Quattro is talking to ya man! I would clean it each night, give it a kiss, and gently put it to bed!:cheers::clapping:

Thank you Stan, I appreciated you candor here. I don't think your Sovereign is faulty and I do think our coins are made up of poorer quality material.I've also found that I get a signal, then it disappears and no matter what I do, it doesn't come back. But some of these signal, when digging down, I found it to be a tiny rusted nail, or rusted infested soil. These seem to give the quattro an 'unconfirmed reading', which may explain some of the ghosting or falsing signal we get. I've gotten signals just from knocking the detector as I try and sweep through the brush here, onto branches. Sometimes it drives me batty. If I don't have a rake with me in really bad ground, I get frustrated with it. I guess I'm really in the worst type of ground here. When I first began detecting, I really was in the deep end. But the experience taught me a lot about how the quattro functions too.
Angela:)

I just wanted to let you know that Minelab does make a longer lower shaft for the Quattro. There is a dealer in the states that has them if you can't find one where you are.I have noticed the same thing about the signal disappearing but I still like the Q.
