Over the weekend I found on Saturday a 1971 clad Kennedy half in a hole with three quarters, two dimes and a nickle!! My first clad half (my first half was a bit ago in July a 1939 Walker)
On Sunday, while exploring a heavily overgrown area in my home town (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio) where there once existed a bridge and now there is just the pilings in the river and the lead-ups on either side of the river, I found this 1953S Franklin Half at about 5"
Moments later, at nearly 8" I pulled a crusty old copper that had been cut in half. At first I thought it was my first (partial) large cent, and got excited as I haven't broken into the 1800's yet.
After cleaning it took a while to ID, but it turns out to be an 1850 Bank of Upper Canada One Penny Token. Still...1800's!!
I no DOUBT will be searching this area more, as there is NO WAY it has been considered by others...most barely knew this bridge was even there.
