Met up with Syinthnut and hit the pounded out big city park for the umpteenth time.. All of the easy target are long since gone. I worked my way back to the place that produced all the barber dimes and the Barber half i had gotten. Not ever getting a IH penny the hunt was on. Rereading Andys book and finding the chart with the numbers. I put 12-34 & 12-35 in my mind.
Setup the EZ Track with a modified high trash pattern and settings. Off i went. No more than two passes i caught a smell of i high signal. It was only one way in auto +3 "about 19". I flipped over to manual and upped it to 30. Better but not great. the 46 47 peeked my interest. Pinpoint was just a low moan and sputtering. So i marked it with a stick and moved on. Several passes later i hit what i was looking for. 12-34 12-35 at about 6". 1905 IH "my first" "yay". Hit a nice high tone a little later and up came this Soviet union pin. "only in a big city park lol" A few wheats later and a crusty Buffalo. I hit a high sweet target right next to a old tree. Called Synth over so he could check it out. He took a look with his ET and said it had to be a Barber dime. Although it dipped into the 46 range the 47-48 told me different. Dug it up with him standing there watching. 1924 SLQ "first "yay!" Stay lost in the tones all!
