HARVEYS2-1.jpg

After a gruelling 24 hour sinus, headache toothache bed-rest, I woke up this morning feeling great! So, I grabbed my ACE 250/Large coil + Snowpion Cold Stinger, put them in my Saturn Vue and headed for the hills, well almost. I stopped at Harvey's for breakfast. The temp was to go to about zero, but with the wind blowing, it barely got to minus 5C.

Well kinds feeling on top of the world today, after a great breakfast and blue skies. I had to climb to the top of a hill with Edmonton in the background. Here it is......my home :).

After finding some loot near this area, I headed off to another tundra hill which has had a lot of activity during the last couple of weeks. It was here that I got a strong signal, and a nice gold bracelet appeared as I removed the top 3-4 inches of snow. I bet you I performed at least 6 revolutions on that round bracelet searching the inside for a 10K or 14 K stamp. There were none to be found. I felt that heavy sensation on my chest, the same one that I have experienced several times before when I "thought" that I had found gold. Dang it! Another NITRO today :(

I hit yet another tundra hill on the way home, and again found several more coins. Well, the winds picked up and my stomach was getting a little growly, so I headed home and counted my loot. Those Loonie-one dollar coins sure add up nicely!

Good day John. Thanks for the definition Have seen the term nitro a couple of times but didn't want to ask. What is the silver looking thing that looks like a tube?

That silver thing (plastic) is a broken handle off a snow sled. I usually pick up a lot of garbage on the hills so kids don't get hurt.

Which was the better haul - the grub or the loot? It was gorgeous here today, about 60-70 degrees but I didn't get out.

Bill

It's great to see the spots that you hunt John, as well as some Canadian cuisine.
Thanks for thinking the photo more than just your finds. I'm sitting here in T shirt and shorts in very pleasant weather.
Mick Evans.

Lots of coin finds. A good hunt..
Breakfast of champions :clapping:

LOL, yeah Nitro is the best term to describe those initial feelings of finding a sweet item only to find out its not. Still looks like you had a good day and better than being inside.

ok so since iam getting warmer here and thinkin ill tape on a heat pack to my 250....how does snow affect sensitivity ?
What iam thinking is that if your on hard packed snow/ice and you get a ding , is it reading past the snow/ice ? i guess if you dig down to dirt and find nothing then its in the ground.
any tips ?
thx
