The first item is a button I think. Made of copper or brass. Or is it something else? The second item looks like a old broach but the plastic insert type thing doesn't seem to fit. Or is the piece really not that old? Thanks for looking and look forward to your replys.
 
My guess is that the first item could be a knob for a chest of drawers and the second item could be a decretive facade for belt buckle, jewelry box, picture frame or something like that.
