Two Ring Day for Excalibur

Today's saltwater hunt turned up two rings. Both are unmarked which is unusual. The silver one was completely blackened until I took a green scratchy to it. There is still plenty of tarnish but based on how it is cleaning up I suspect it is 925 silver. The gold ring weighed in at almost 8 grams and an acid test suggests 14K. Happy hunting everyone!

Nice finds ...I've never found 2 rings in one day ....Very cool !....What's the name of the scale ? ..... Thanks, Jim

As for plating anything is possible. But I did the acid scratch test repeatedly and considering how much it weights I would be surprised if it was not solid. My guess is that it was originally marked but may have worn off the inside of the band from being worn 24 x 7 for many years.
