Two silver day...

Jack(IN)

New member
Went back to the "Wheat field" and its still giving up the goodies...two silvers today, a 1941 Washington, a 1942 Merc, another Buffalo(1921), mt first "V" at the field(1910), a few wheats and clad...the IL tax token was last week hunting with Dad!

Great job.....
I have'nt found my first V yet but when I do I'm sure it'll look like yours.....
The old Bufflaos I find all look as red as yours. Id take two silvers any day Jack....
Keep'em commin

Nice finds once again. Keep those coins popping out of the ground and hopefully you will find some Barber since you have already found an Indian and a V-Nickel. Good Luck and HH>

I think the "V" and Indian were lost around the time the others were lost...both dated after 1900 and the V was 1910 and wheats were pulled out with that date...maybe a Barber Dime will appear, but think I need to hit an older area than what I'm hitting, but just having too much fun digging what I'm digging!!

Ah you never know. I hunted a site over the space of a year that 95% of the silver was from the 1920's and above... mercs, slq's, etc. But, once in awhile a barber would sneak in the mix or an IH. I did find a seated there too... :) Over 400 wheaties too! Even the nickels were mostly buffalos. I think I only dug two or three V nickels there. Alot of nice silver came from that site... I wish they all produced like that site did...

I have small hopes for a Barber, but still happy with the silver...don't know when the next good producer will come along!!

I know what you mean about the silver. You take what you can get and enjoy them irregardless if they're a rosie or a merc. Like I said, I'll take any silver any day of the week. Seated and barbers are just icing on the cake. The bad thing about sites that are great producers is that they spoil you. I know after averaging 35-35 wheaties plus 2-5 silver per outing at that site two years ago. Sometimes I was leaving with over 50 coins and there wasn't hardly any clad there. It was hard to go back and 'work' for my silver... :)
