The 54 calibre sharpes comes in @ 50-52 or
screwcap on my DFX. Signature is about the
same on the XLT.

Just wondered what part of Va. you're in ?
I normally just coin hunt in the Charlotesville
area....but a friend and I went to a site
that some CW bullets were found in a yard where
the owner was gardening. Well we hunted hard
the whole day and didn't find a single CW
item. We went to a school when we went back
to town ~ just to find some clad so that we
could soothe that skunk feeling and I dug
a dropped bullet there. So you never know.
Anyway I wish you luck !

Just to throw in my 2 cents. I am in Northern Virginia and with the highly mineralized soil, have found bullets that came up as hot rocks on my MXT. If you think you are in an area with the possibility of Civil War activity, I would dig pretty much everything.
