Types of problems with etrac requiring service

jdeiana

New member
I just got my etrac today from my local dealer who has them in stock . Upgraded from Safari. I am concerned if i do have a problem - it may take some time to get fixed due to this reorganizing of Minelab. What types of issues can come up with these machines? What are the signs of a problem? What types of problems have people on this forum experienced that required it be sent in for service?

Gees jdeaina.

Don't worry about what might happen to your new Etrac, just get out there and enjoy it.
Are you a natural worrier?
The odds are pretty small that you will require service on the detector.

Cheers

Rob..

Ha - yes I am a natural worrier - you got me pegged - I am always paranoid something is wrong with any of my machines. Haven't even gotten out with yet and am looking for problems. Really I am more curious as to what types of issues are possible. I was lucky to never have any problems with last detectors - but read a couple of posts of guys who sent their machines in a couple of times - and wondered what types of problems can be common.

Okay..
I really can't help you with the possible problems you may have!
I don't have an etrac but my faithful old explorer XS needed some warranty work, nothing electrical, about 8yrs ago and I sent it over to Minelab here in Australia, about 500 miles away.
It was over and back a total of 4days!!
I went and bought a Whites V3 before Xmas.
Hope somebody on here can ease your pain!!

cheers

Rob..

Biggest problem?
People thinking it's a magic wand. Expecting to pull silver at a foot deep. Not hearing silver at a foot deep.
Not expecting any kind of learning curve.

That aside I've had mine since 08. No troubles thus far other than a bum coil I bought for it. That's a coil not the machines fault.

Don't think too much about what can go wrong. Great machine.Enjoy it!

Hi: I have been using Minelab detectors and now selling them for years, I sent in a early XS had it back in 3 weeks. Wire
had broken at the connector to the main housing. My fault. I would suggest not to run it over and get out and use it they are great machines period. have fun and find find find. Hardrock
